Matt Ricozzi is an experienced Drone Operations Specialist with over five years of experience and more than 22 years of dedicated service between the U.S. military and law enforcement. His expertise is strategically deploying advanced aerial technology, particularly in public safety, incident response, and large-scale event management. As an FAA-certified Part 107 drone pilot and technical police trainer, Matt has continuously leveraged his deep knowledge of drone operations, incident command, and regulatory compliance to drive operational excellence in high-pressure environments. Known for his precision, innovation, and leadership, Matt has consistently delivered results while ensuring the highest safety and regulatory adherence levels. In his current role at the Westchester County Department of Public Safety, Matt serves as a Patrol Supervisor, with additional duties as a Drone/UAS Pilot and Accident Investigator. He often can be seen operating drones and sUAS systems to provide situational awareness during large-scale events, emergency responses, and public safety operations. His efforts have spanned everything from crowd control at demonstrations and protests to search and rescue missions, crime scene documentation, and natural disaster response. Matt co-authored the department’s drone program policies and procedures, streamlining operations and reducing FAA dependencies for faster response times. He also pioneered a comprehensive UAS training program that includes over 40 police departments, fire departments, and National Guard units in Westchester County, ensuring best practices and fostering inter-agency collaboration. As the founder and CEO of SkyeTech Aerial, LLC, (est. 2019) Matt has built a successful drone services company that provides aerial mapping, construction documentation, infrastructure inspections, and environmental monitoring to various industries. He has led projects such as an 18-month long solar farm installation, where he provided daily aerial mapping over 600 acres and a construction progression video for a large energy project. His work has enhanced client satisfaction, streamlined project efficiency, and ensured full compliance with FAA regulations. Matt’s ability to deliver high-quality aerial data using advanced software such as Pix4D, DroneDeploy, and DJI Terra has been instrumental in improving asset tracking, damage assessments, and overall project management for his clients.
